About the Role:

We are seeking 1-2 talented Comic Book Sketch Artists to join the Twist of Fate creative team. You'll work alongside our existing sketch artist and the rest of the creative team, sharing the storyboarding and sketching/penciling work across a series of 12 comic books. Your line art will then be handed off to our background and color artists to finish. This is a fully remote, US-based role.

Responsibilities:

• Storyboards: Beginning with thumbnail/rough storyboard panels, work with the sketch team to transform comic book scripts into finished storyboard sequences across our series of 12 comic books
• Sketches: Using your unique artistic style, pencil/sketch comic book pages as outlined by the storyboards, sharing the workload across our series of 12 comic books with the rest of the sketch team and delivering clean line art ready to hand off to our background and color artists
• Cover Sketches: Provide high quality sketch/line art layouts for select comic book covers, to be finished by our background and color artists
• Additional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contracts

Qualifications:

• Proven professional experience as a comic book sketch artist, penciler, or illustrator, with a strong portfolio showcasing your sketch/line art style and strong understanding of design, composition, and anatomy
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Clip Studio Paint, Toon Boon Storyboard Pro, Photoshop, etc.)
• Ability to align with the vision and values of the comic series, while bringing your own creative style
• A passion for creating engaging narratives through visual storytelling
• Consistent time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to edit and revise work based on feedback while being proactive in communicating any questions or concerns
• Bachelor's degree or certificate in Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
