Job Description

Image Comics is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Publishing Traffic Manager to oversee publishing schedules, manage metadata workflows, and maintain accurate title data across Airtable systems. This role serves as a central coordination point between production, marketing, and sales teams to ensure all publishing assets and deadlines are tracked and executed efficiently. A proactive individual with a keen eye for detail, but an intuition for creative, problem solving on-the-fly will be most successful in this fast-paced role. This role is currently fully remote, must reside in Washington, Oregon, or California.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, distribute, and maintain publishing schedules for titles across multiple workflows and departments
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of production and release milestones
  • Maintain and update Airtable databases with title information, metadata, schedules, and status changes
  • Enter and manage book/product metadata, including titles, ISBNs, UPCs, contributors, publication dates, formats, and pricing
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all Airtable records and reporting systems
  • Coordinate with production, sales, marketing, and digital teams to gather and verify required information
  • Monitor workflow progress and proactively identify scheduling conflicts or missing data
  • Support process improvements and workflow optimization related to title management and metadata tracking
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for publishing operations

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in publishing operations, traffic management, production coordination, or metadata management preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Airtable or similar database/project management platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Airtable
  • Familiarity with publishing workflows and metadata standards is a plus

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with production schedules
  • Knowledge of ISBN, UPC, and metadata management processes
  • Ability to analyze and maintain large datasets accurately
  • Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
