Job Description

Image Comics is looking to fill a full-time Marketing Design Manager position (primarily remote, with occasional in-person planning meetings, must reside in New York, Tennessee, Washington, Oregon, or California).

Marketing Design Manager duties:

  • Primarily responsible for the overall design and production of the company’s monthly digital catalog and working closely with the Sales and Marketing departments in implementing design feedback, corrections, and updates to the pages from start to finish.
  • Responsible for designing all Marketing materials, such as: bookmarks, posters, convention signage, print catalogs, advertisements, Website banners, social media graphics, etc., as the need arises.
  • Supervisory responsibility for 1-2 support staff employees.

Requirements

Marketing Design Manager required skills:

  • Well-versed in the CMYK print production process and specifications including: resolution, layout, file sizing/quality, and navigating different uploading procedures as well as converting files to web-res/social media-ready content
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment (the production lifecycle of a comic book can be as short a turnaround as 2 or fewer weeks) while maintaining high standards of quality and a strong creator focus/client-service attitude
  • Must have a deep understanding of and expert-level working knowledge of G-Suite and Adobe-Suite 
  • Able to effectively and efficiently manage and direct the work of support staff employees
  • Team player willing to multi-task and provide backup production/light design to clients when the need arises
  • Must be a highly organized, self-starter with an ability to “manage up” and a talent for pivoting and streamlining processes in a high velocity environment
  • A collaborative worker with an aptitude for follow-up and follow-through when supporting teammates
  • Must have experience in and be comfortable with managing 1-2 support staff employees

Five years experience in comic book print production or a related field preferred; knowledge of the comics and graphic novel industry and prior supervisory experience is a plus. This is a full-time, mid-level supervisory position that will report directly to the VP of PR & Marketing.

The starting salary for this role will be $75K.
