Yen Press Intern

Summary:
Yen Press is one of the largest publishers of manga, light novels, and original graphic novels in the North American market. Our summer internship program offers an opportunity for students to gain work experience within the publishing industry within various departments. We are looking for interns in the following departments: Managing Editorial, Marketing, and Production.
Interns in our program will learn through on-the-job training with hands on practice. They will gain knowledge of the basic structure of the department along with key tasks that must be performed on a day-to-day basis. They will have the opportunity to partake in job-related tasks and gain practical work experience.

Work Environment: Commute to the Manhattan office is required
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9AM-5PM
Rate: $18/hour
Qualifications:
- Current college student interested in the publishing industry
- Detail oriented individual with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Enthusiastic and excited about manga, light novels, and/or comics
- Possess a great attitude and a desire to learn as well as excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Resourceful with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and work independently
- Must be results driven, and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) for design internship preferred
