Webtoon Developmental Editor (Vertical Scroll Storytelling)
Job Description
I’m an independent creator seeking a Developmental Editor with experience in Webtoon / vertical scrolling storytelling to collaborate on a long‑form Webtoon project.
The story is fully written and structured in Webtoon panel format, totaling approximately 1,499 panels. I’m looking for developmental‑level feedback to refine the story for a mobile‑first audience, with a strong focus on pacing, clarity, and reader engagement.
This role is not proofreading or copyediting. I’m specifically looking for an editor who understands visual storytelling, panel flow, and vertical scroll pacing.
Key areas of focus include:
- Story structure and narrative flow
- Character motivation, consistency, and arcs
- Dialogue clarity and readability for mobile
- Vertical scroll pacing and panel rhythm
- Placement of reveals, beats, and cliffhangers
- Identifying sections that feel rushed, slow, or overly dense
Project Details
- Format: Webtoon / vertical scroll comic
- Length: 1,499 panels
- Status: Fully written and structured
- Editing type: Developmental
I will begin with a paid sample edit (20–40 panels) to evaluate fit and working style. If the collaboration is successful, the project will continue in phases covering the full story.
This is an original, unpublished project. Sample panels or script excerpts can be shared with selected candidates during the sample phase.
Note: “Per unit” refers to page‑equivalent rates for a Webtoon project. The total length (1,499 panels) is provided for clarity, and page counts are an approximate conversion for pricing purposes.
