Kisai Entertainment is opening a new opportunity for a 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫 to join an upcoming modern romance project rooted in Chinese Indonesian culture.

We are looking for a talented individual for:

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with editors to develop characters, lore, and narrative structure during the pre-production phase.
  • Develop the series’ storyline based on existing lore and overall direction.
  • Create detailed outlines for webtoon scripts, including story arcs and character progression.
  • Write a pilot script for the selected title(s) that can serve as reference or writing guide for other writers.
  • Write a webtoon script consisting of 65 to 70 panels per episode.
  • Collaborate closely with editors to develop and revise the script for the series.
  • Develop the series’ storyline based on existing lore and overall direction.

Requirements:

  • Observant in concepting, characterizations, worldbuilding, arc-building, plot development, character consistency, and dialogue flow.
  • Demonstrated ability in writing and storytelling, particularly within the webtoon or serialized visual storytelling format.
  • Having Professional experience in story writing, especially for webtoon or visual narrative formats, is a strong advantage.
  • Highly observant in plot development, character consistency, and dialogue flow.
  • Strong interest and familiarity with comic, manga, or webtoon culture.
  • A good Indonesian-writing proficiency is a must, especially in writing.
  • Able to work with deadlines, handle revisions effectively, and collaborate within a creative production pipeline.
  • Strong understanding and sensitivity of cultural context and nuances relevant to stories inspired by Chinese-Indonesian culture, traditions, and values.
  • Familiarity with storytelling styles and Chinese themes commonly found in works such as Crazy Rich Asians.
  • Portfolio submission is required, including a story concept previously developed by the candidate and a script written in Indonesian language.
