Colorist

Job Description

Hi everyone!

We're looking for a colorist to join us for a short, paid project:

“Sol the Wise” – a 10-page illustrated story with a picture-book / soft, ephemeral style.

As we are just starting out, our budget is limited, and since this is our first external collaboration, the project also serves as a test run - but if your style matches what we’re building, we have more commissions planned in the same direction.

🎨 Project Details

• Length: 10 pages
• Style: Picture-book / painterly / ephemeral / gentle color storytelling
• Compensation: Paid (based on your rate per page)
• Format: Clean lineart supplied
• Timeline: Flexible - starting soon

💡 What We’re Looking For

A colorist who can work with:

• Soft, atmospheric palettes
• Painterly / watercolor-like shading
• Storybook moods and simple shapes
• Light-driven, emotional color storytelling

Reference inspirations (for tone):

Tove Jansson, Oamul Lu, Shaun Tan, Ghibli storybook promos. BUT also would love to see more psychedelic stuff (after all it is not a childrens story)
