Seeking Comic Artist for Grounded Black-Ops Vigilante Series

PROJECT:

Brassman Actual — a grounded black-ops vigilante comic (20–22 page Issue #1).

Tone: Metal Gear × The Batman (Year One) × Sicario

Style: dark, gritty, realistic, stealth-heavy.

No superheroes, no magic, no sci-fi lasers.

I have a complete Artist Packet ready, including:

• World + tone summary
• Full character bible
• Wraithsuit dossier (stealth suit reference)
• Visual direction
• Issue #1 mission structure
• First 5 scripted pages (professional comic format)

Looking for:

A comic artist with strong skills in:

• Sequential art
• Shadow-heavy cinematic scenes
• Grounded action
• Character/gear design
• Gritty realism

Required Skills

• Strong sequential art ability (must show story flow)
• Ability to draw grounded, realistic human anatomy
• Experience with shadow-heavy, noir, or cinematic scenes
• Comfortable illustrating tactical gear, stealth suits, and masks
• Ability to handle dark, industrial, and low-light environments
• Solid understanding of dynamic but realistic action
• Able to follow a detailed Artist Packet
• Consistent communication and reliable deadlines

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• Experience with black-and-white or desaturated color palettes
• Prior work on graphic novels or indie comics
• Ability to create character turnarounds and concept sheets
• Familiarity with military/stealth visual language
• Ability to differentiate subtle emotional cues (body language, posture)

Work needed:

• Character design sheets
• 5-page pilot (initial contract)
• Full Issue #1 after successful test pages

Pay:

• Paid.
• Budget flexible depending on experience.
• Please include your page rate and examples of sequential pages.

Rights:

• Artist keeps rights to artwork created.
• Creator (Brassman Actual) retains ALL rights to the story, characters, designs, and IP of Brassman Actual.
• Standard freelance contract provided.

• 3–5 sequential page samples (REQUIRED)
• Page rate (your standard price per comic page)
• Availability (how soon you can begin)
• Whether you work in B/W, color, or both

Optional:

• Character design samples
• Any relevant noir / tactical / grounded work
