Job Description
Flagcat is looking for a Pre-Animatic Layout Artist to help transform our webtoon projects into short animated videos (pre-animatics).
You’ll work from Clip Studio Paint (.csp) source files and be responsible for turning static webtoon panels into dynamic, cinematic vertical sequences that define the pacing, tone, and storytelling of each episode.
👉 Important: this role does not involve animating or generating motion from the images.Your job is to select, frame, and edit existing panels into a coherent video sequence that simulates animation through camera work, timing, and transitions — much like a storyboard brought to life.
Each webtoon episode is adapted into two to three short vertical animated videos, each lasting around 1:00–1:30.You’ll help determine how to split the episode, where each video starts and ends, and ensure every short has strong pacing and a compelling, cliffhanger-style ending.
You are encouraged to slightly adjust or condense dialogues and scenes when needed to improve flow, clarity, and emotional rhythm.Your creative eye and storytelling instincts are key to making each pre-animatic engaging and easy to follow.
Your mission will be to:
- Select and extract key panels from the original webtoon files
- Build a 1:30 pre-animatic video that captures the emotional and visual rhythm of the story
- Add camera motion, zooms, and transitions to simulate animation
- Use AI-generated voices (e.g. via ElevenLabs) to set dialogue timing and pacing
- Create a Pre-Animatic Sheet listing shot order, duration, dialogue timing, and camera notes
Your work will serve as the visual and narrative blueprint for the animation and dubbing teams.
