And we are so happy to be partnering with our good friend Michele Abounader who loves witches a normal amount.
WHO ARE WE?
Kat Calamia (she/her) is best known for her work as the co-creator of WEBTOON's "Slice of Life", "The Beast & Snow", and the creator of "Like Father, Like Daughter" and "They Call Her...The Dancer". She also co-created/edited many other anthologies including "Rainbow Canvas" and "Hairology" and created "Bi Visibility". She was part of Kickstarter's official creator council and has bylines with IGN, DC Comics, Newsarama, TV Guide, and Reed Pop's Popverse.
Phil Falco (he/him) is a comic writer and co-founder of Lifeline Comics. He is best known for his work as the co-creator of WEBTOON's "Slice of Life", "The Beast & Snow", and as the creator of "HAUNTING". He also co-created/edited several other anthologies including "Rainbow Canvas: Wholesome BL & GL Stories from Webtoon Canvas" and "Hairology: A Celebration of Hair".
Michele Abounader (she/her) is an editor and writer of comics, with a passion for poetic narrative storytelling, anthologies, and amplifying new voices. She edited and crowdfunded comic anthologies "The Color of Always", "Sharp Wit & the Company of Women", "Sapphic Pulp", and "When I Was Young".
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
WRITERS:
- Submit a 2-, 4-, 6-, or 8-page COMIC BOOK SCRIPT. Begin your script add a one sentence logline and the genre.
Your story could be written in any horror genre. However, (1.) Witches must be a factor in the plot, and/or (2.) your protagonist should be a Witch.
Apart from that - have fun, think outside the box, and use your page limit wisely.
Please submit in the form of a comic script, with events broken into specified pages and panels.

Note: You can submit as a team or as an individual writer. If the latter, then we will pair you up with a writer/artist.

Note that all writers (accepted into the anthology and otherwise) retain full ownership of their stories and scripts. Accepted scripts will be contracted to be published exclusively in this WITCH Anthology for an exclusivity period of approximately one year before writers are free to publish their stories elsewhere.

COMPENSATION FOR ACCEPTED WORK:
One of the biggest things we wanted to do for this project is make sure all creators get paid. So, we're guaranteeing a page rate for artists and writers.
Writer: $30 Per Page
Line Artist: $80 Per Page
Colorist: $40 Per Page
PLUS 1 Comp Copy of the WITCH Anthology with an opportunity to buy more copies at wholesale price for re-sale purposes.

Writers are welcome to submit multiple scripts. Just be sure to submit each as its own entry in the Google Form (you can use the same One-Pager for every submission). Please note that if you are accepted into the anthology, only one of your scripts may be admitted.

Witching Hour is planned to be more mature than our previous anthologies. Violence, complex themes/stories, and suggestive material are all fair game. But we recommend avoiding explicit nudity and on-page sex acts.

Your story should fit into the Horror genre (or a Horror subgenre). We encourage creativity with genre and tone, but please ensure your story would fit in a "Witch Horror" anthology.
