Hiring a Professional Mangaka for an Exciting Fantasy Manga Project!

Rippaverse Publishing is looking for a professional mangaka to illustrate an upcoming fantasy-action manga adaptation. We prefer that the artist is from or based out of Japan. This is a paid contract position, and we’re seeking an artist with:

• Experience in manga storytelling and panel composition
• Strong action and fantasy illustration skills
• Ability to create dynamic, expressive characters
• Professional experience in serialized manga or published works

The project is tied to a larger multimedia universe, including an animated adaptation, so we need an artist who can bring high-energy action and world-building to life.

This is a contract-based paid position with competitive compensation. You will be paid on a per-page rate.

Qualifications

• Strong Manga Storytelling & Paneling – Ability to craft dynamic, readable, and engaging manga layouts.
• Expertise in Action & Fantasy Illustration – Strong command of combat scenes, movement, and world-building.
• Proficiency in Traditional or Digital Manga Tools – Experience with Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop, or equivalent manga software.
• Experience in Serialized Manga or Published Works – Prior work in manga, webcomics, or graphic novels is preferred.
• Understanding of Manga Art Techniques – Ability to create expressive characters, detailed backgrounds, and impactful visual storytelling.
• Consistent Work Ethic & Deadline Management – Must be able to meet deadlines for a structured release schedule.
• Ability to Adapt to an Existing World & Character Designs – The story is part of a larger multimedia universe.

Bonus Skills (Not Required, But a Plus!)

• Experience in anime storyboarding or concept art
• Familiarity with Japanese manga industry standards
• Ability to collaborate with a creative team
