Business Manager
Job Description
J-Novel Club is looking for a Business Manager to join their team. This position will play a key role in managing the English eBook store targeting users in the United States, Canada, and other English-speaking regions. In this position, you will work as a store manager responsible for the overall operations of their online store, including publisher relations. You will be responsible for operational strategies & implementation and facilitating with the development team to update key functions. This role reports directly to the CEO.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Make budget plans, including annual budget and mid-term plans
- Streamline approvals for budgetary and operational needs
- Manage the overall operations of the eBook store
- Communicate regularly with staff to implement and structure strategies
- Communicate with related companies and publishers as needed
- Report on the status of operations to upper management
- Manage staffers that report to you directly
- Work with other employees to create a productive working environment
- Help with scheduling of operations, staff, and processes
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1+ year previous managerial experience
- English native speaker, or equivalent English language ability
- Able to work in either JST or North American work hours on a daily basis, with understanding that some regular or essential meetings may be in either
- 2+ years of experience in either Digital Manga, Light Novel Publishing, Marketing or related field
- Comfortable working across cultures on a fully-remote team
- Excellent at communication
- Proactive and meets deadlines
